Something’s moving

Go read Betta’s Blog!

Betta’s blog works as a prologue to Aliens in Italy. It starts a few weeks before the news about the invasion is revealed and follows Betta’s growing interest in the alien invasion and Italy’s reaction to it. It may look a little critical at first, but mind you, that’s the usual approach the average Italian has to the Italian government (also, they may be saying the worst things about Italy, but you aren’t allowed to do the same). Bear with us, and it’ll gradually become more plot-related!

It also may contain a little European Hipsterism (“that’s an European thing, you wouldn’t understand”), some reference to Italian history (usually self-explained: by writing in English, Betta knows she’s exposing her thoughts to a wider audience and she explains things she wouldn’t need to explain to fellow Italians) annnndd some fangirling (not too much).

Artist wanted!

You like the idea behind Aliens in Italy? I do too! (Obviously, ahah)

Well, why would I want an artist? Because I’d love to turn it into a comic or have an illustrator, but I have no money so it’s on your volunteering. I also have a gallery! See how badly drawn it is! :)

22-year-old Betta lives in Central Italy in difficult and weird times. When you are just starting your life it can be difficult to accept changes. And then, there’s that alien invasion.
Had it started in USA, this alien invasion could have been an Independence-day or War-of-the-Worlds kind of thing, but since the aliens first landed in Scandinavia, it’s silent, almost tame. Many kinds of aliens are now scattered on the Earth, but the most important ones are the shape-shifting ones, the ones that are kinda trying to replace us, or part of us; like, to procreate. Ewww.
Thing is, this alien invasion has now hit Italy and, as usual, it’s a mess. Had it not been for the Swedish Disinfectors, half of the Italian population would have been replaced by aliens, though whether this would have been a good or bad thing is still up to discussion.
Betta’s life changes when an alien sneaks in her home and tries to substitute her mother, and a the province Disinfector, Erik, comes to clean up the mess, pulls her away from her boring, bleak days as a proletarian barmaid and teaches her that life can be conquered – with a hammer.

Hello world!

This website as you can see is a work in progress! But if by chance you happen to speak Italian and like reading, there’s the Italian Website, my blog and if you are Translation nerd, there’s even a blog in ENGLISH about it: Traslatin’.

Synopsis

Betta’s life changes when an alien sneaks in her home and tries to substitute her mother, and a the province Disinfector, Erik, comes to clean up the mess and pulls her away from her boring, bleak days as a proletarian barmaid.

So this is Aliens in Italy in a nutshell, but of course the best part is the story. I am working to try to translate the actual parts of the story, but it a really difficult task, especially if I want to keep the style.
